“As the wind drives smoke and impurities from the atmosphere, pranayama drives away the impurities of the body and mind.” - B.K.S. Iyengar
The OM Pranayama Teacher Training will give you the tools to teach pranayama in yoga classes, pranayama classes, with private clients and to further deepen your own pranayama practice.
This program is part of the OM 500 Teacher Training Program.
Participants will learn how to use props and hands-on adjustments to support breath work and will work in study groups to create and teach warm-ups specific to pranayama preparation. Lectures will introduce aspects, movements, and parts of the breath and how pranayama practice can be integrated with yoga philosophy.
Each day will begin with an hour of pranayama practice, introducing sama vritti, nadi shodanam, viloma, kapalabhati and the most advanced technique, breath awareness or finding a genuine breath. This hour of intimate work will begin with simple stretching and move on to breath work done lying down and sitting up.
Following our Pranayama practice session, we will study the specific pranayama techniques practiced that morning.
The OM Pranayama Teacher Training is perfect for yoga teachers, acupuncturists, massage therapists, bodywork practitioners, or anyone interested in practicing and learning more about pranayama.
This course includes a manual created by Cyndi Lee.
A certificate will be issued upon completion of the course.
