This unusual time in our lives offers us great opportunity to engage in the practice of being a friend. In the Buddhist tradition this is called Metta, and comes with a good set of instructions for how to fatten up our friendliness, starting with our own mind and body.

Let’s sit and chant and meditate together and do some self-friendly asana to help feed our innate capacity for friendliness, and strengthen our attitudinal commitment to kindness.

Cyndi Lee is the first female Western yoga teacher to fully integrate yoga asana and Tibetan Buddhism in her practice and teaching. In 1998, she founded the OM yoga Center in NYC, which became a mecca for yogis worldwide. One of the most influential teachers in the U.S., Cyndi’s teaching work is now focussed on yoga, meditation and resiliency workshops worldwide.
